Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of Kanto. By accessing or using Kanto, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Operator
Kanto is operated by Axel in Estonia. Questions about these Terms can be sent to axeeeeeel@proton.me.
2. Eligibility
Kanto is intended for adults and is recommended for users 18 and older. If you are under 18, you should not create an account or use the service.
3. The Service
Kanto is a board-based discussion network where users can create communities, publish threads and replies, maintain profiles, vote on content, follow users, submit reports, and participate in moderation and safety systems. The service runs on Vercel with a Supabase Postgres database. Features may change, be added, be removed, or break. Kanto is provided on an "as available" basis.
4. Accounts
- You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your password secure.
- You may not impersonate other people, entities, or organizations.
- You may not try to evade suspensions, bans, rate limits, or moderation actions.
- Unverified accounts may have limited features and may lose claim to a username if not verified.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Kanto to:
- Break the law.
- Spam, scam, phish, or engage in fraud.
- Harass, threaten, dox, stalk, or target people with abuse.
- Share illegal content or facilitate illegal conduct.
- Upload malware or interfere with the service’s operation.
- Automate abuse, scrape aggressively, or bypass technical restrictions.
- Impersonate staff, moderators, or other users.
- Use the service in a way that creates security, operational, or legal risk for Kanto or other users.
6. Content Rules
Kanto is intended to support broad discussion, but “free speech” on the service does not mean “speech without consequences.” Content can still be removed or restricted when needed to operate the product, enforce site rules, address abuse, or reduce legal and safety risk.
The obvious baseline rules apply. For example, users may not use Kanto for:
- Illegal content.
- Non-consensual sexual content or exploitative material.
- Credible threats of violence.
- Severe harassment campaigns or doxxing.
- Spam floods or platform manipulation.
7. Moderation
Kanto uses site moderators, community moderators, reports, and manual review. Moderators may remove content, lock communities, mute users, ban users, freeze communities, hide communities, quarantine communities, or take other actions reasonably related to product integrity and safety.
Kanto reserves the right to remove content or restrict access with or without prior notice when reasonably necessary. Site moderation decisions may be made quickly, imperfectly, or conservatively. Some moderation decisions can be appealed through Settings or by contacting the operator.
8. User Content
You retain responsibility for the content you submit. By posting content to Kanto, you grant Kanto a non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, display, process, and distribute that content as needed to operate the service and its related features. This license ends in a practical sense when content is deleted from the active service, subject to temporary caches, backups, or provider-side operational traces.
9. Availability and Changes
Kanto may change features, rankings, moderation systems, APIs, content visibility, account limits, or community controls at any time. Kanto does not guarantee uptime, preservation of data, or long-term support for any specific feature.
10. Termination and Deletion
You may stop using Kanto at any time. Kanto may suspend, limit, or terminate access when necessary for rule enforcement, security, legal compliance, operational stability, or product direction. User-requested deletion is intended to be permanent in the overwhelming majority of cases, though short-lived technical remnants may persist temporarily in backups or provider infrastructure.
11. Payments
Kanto does not currently offer paid services, subscriptions, or refunds because there are no paid features at this time. If paid services are introduced later, Kanto may publish separate payment terms.
12. Disclaimers
Kanto is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent allowed by applicable law. Kanto does not guarantee uninterrupted access, security perfection, fitness for a specific purpose, non-infringement, error-free operation, or that user content will always remain available.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kanto and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, reputational harm, or similar losses arising from or related to your use of the service.
14. Governing Position
These Terms are intended to be interpreted in a manner consistent with applicable law and the service’s operation from Estonia. If a specific provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions should continue to apply to the maximum extent possible.
15. Changes to These Terms
Kanto may revise these Terms from time to time. Updated versions become effective when posted, unless a later date is stated. Continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
